Manager - Government, Executive and Ministerial Services

Wellington - Fixed Term, Full Time


The Government, Executive and Ministerial Services (GEMS) group works at the interface between the Ministry of Education and Ministers, Parliament and the broader public of New Zealand. We work to ensure the Ministry is a transparent and accountable organisation that provides a high quality service to the Government of the day and delivers on the public's right to access information.

We're looking for a Manager on a 12 month fixed term basis, who can provide both people management and leadership in our team.  It is essential that you have a sound working knowledge of both the Official Information Act and machinery of government processes, and that you have strong analytical and writing skills.

You will manage a team that is responsible for replying to Official Information Act requests, responding to Parliamentary questions and managing the Ministry's preparation for Select Committee engagements. You will also be responsible for managing the Ministry's proactive release of information.
