Education Workforce is part of the Early Learning and Student Achievement Group, and supports the building of a workforce with the capability and capacity to lift student achievement. Education Workforce is comprised of teams for workforce strategy and planning, scholarships and awards, and employment relations.

 

About the role:

The Employment Relations team is looking for an assistant adviser or an adviser, depending on qualifications and experience. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the education sector. You will be part of a team whose role is to bargain education sector collective agreements covering teachers, principals and school support staff, and participate in work programmes within Education Workforce and the wider Ministry.

 

About the person:

You are organised and flexible and able to juggle a number of tasks at the same time. You can plan and sequence work, managing priorities and risks. You are a team player and have the ability to develop and manage relationships with a broad range of people and organisations, including unions, employer organsiations, and other departments.

 

The ideal person has outstanding problem-solving and communication skills.

The environment is fast paced and you must be agile and responsive while delivering quality work. An appropriate tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience is highly desirable.
