About us

Education Infrastructure Service (EIS) as a part of the Ministry manages one of the largest property portfolios in New Zealand, composed of over 2,100 primary and secondary State schools and over 8,000 hectares of land with a carrying value of $17.2 billion.  EIS is also responsible for managing school payroll, school transport and for the delivery of information communication technology in schools.  EIS undertakes around 3,000 projects per annum; a combination of Ministry and School led projects costing at least $800m per annum.

The EIS Business Systems team works with the Ministry Information Technology Group to ensure the effective, pragmatic, smart reuse and management of data, information management systems and technology across EIS. We support efficiencies in BAU and new business activity as well as ensuring business information and systems are performing optimally, delivering expected outcomes and are fit for purpose.

About the role

The Data Quality Analyst will be required to provide information gathering capability to support the response to official information requests. Establish and adhere to data quality practices within the team and in EIS analyse and report on data quality issues, initiatives, and be proactive in addressing data quality concerns.

Your key priorities will include: 

  • Analysis and Data Management
  • Quality Assurance, Presentations and Reporting
  • Liaising with Internal Stakeholders to improve Data Quality as a service.

About you

You will be a successful Data Quality Analyst who has a strong passion and understanding of data and information design, modelling, acquisition to central data stores and presentation of data.  Ideally you will have experience working in a role requiring analysis of complex issues and have the proven ability to deliver.

You will also offer the ability to:

  • communicate at both a general business level and technical level
  • provide an extensive and sound understanding of analytical methodologies and to effectively apply these to understand practical issues
  • work collaboratively in a highly motivated team environment.
