The Ministry of Education's purpose is to be the lead advisor on the education system, shaping direction for educational agencies and providers and contributing to the Government's goal for education.
As part of this vision, the Ministry is currently going through an exciting change journey in order to meet, improve and influence how the system will be shaped for the betterment for every New Zealander.
The Data and Information Stewardship (DIS) group is looking for a passionate BI Developer who wants to be part of our new reporting function. As a BI developer in the Data Solutions and Warehousing team you will be working alongside colleagues to deliver exceptional reporting solutions. You will have the opportunity to work with incredibly powerful education data and deliver new products that can be used to help improve outcomes for New Zealand children and students.
The Role of Senior BI Developer 1 year fixed term:
We are looking for someone that learns fast and has excellent communication skills. You will have a history of developing accurate, trustworthy reports for an organisation. You will be a team player who works collaboratively with colleagues, shares your expertise and listens constructively to other's ideas. You will also help to coach and mentor other team members to lift their reporting capabilities and champion best practice.
You will be developing reporting solutions and will be required to:
- Identify and prioritise reporting requests
- Collate, translate and document requirements
- Develop reports ensuring that customer requirements are met
- Maintain best practice standards
- Work with BI reporting tools (Tableau and/or SSRS experience essential)
