About our group
The Customer Services team provides the ‘front door' to the IT Group and the Ministry, delivering customer services and training in a range of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) systems and applications to the Ministry and wider education system.
About the role
We have recently undertaken a review of our current workforce and have identified a number of roles we need to fill to ensure that our strong delivery commitment is continued at a high standard and as a result of this our Customer Services team is looking for additional Desktop Support Engineers. These roles are new to our team and the Desktop Support Engineer's role will be responsible for first and second level fault and application resolution for all customers and provides an escalation point for the Service Desk Analysts.
We are looking for people who have a minimum of 2 years experience in a Desktop and application fault resolution Support role and brings skills and experience in the following areas:
- Experience with SCCM
- Experience with resolving Application and Desktop technical issues
- Previous experience in a Remote Support Role and Change Management within a large Enterprise Organisation
- Experience with VMWare or other virtualization products
- Knowledge of hardware and device drivers
- Networking knowledge
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Relevant tertiary and/or industry qualifications (preferably MCDST and/or MCP)
- ITIL knowledge
