We work together to shape an education system that delivers excellent and equitable outcomes.
Full-time permanent role based at Mātauranga House (National Office) in Wellington
We are looking for a positive, can-do person who wants to make a difference for children and young people with additional learning needs.
As a senior advisor in the System Innovation team you'll help to identify and progress opportunities to improve the performance of the education system for children and young people with additional learning needs.
You will work closely with colleagues across the Ministry of Education, and with education sector and other key stakeholders. Preparing high quality advice for decision-makers is a core aspect of this role, so experience in this is desirable.
Currently, we are developing advice on the Learning Support Action Plan, which sets out priority improvements for the coming years. This builds on the new delivery model for learning support that is being implemented nationwide. Initial planning work is underway for key priorities in the Action Plan, including the establishment of around 600 new Learning Support Coordinator roles in schools from January 2020.
You will have an empathetic, customer-focused approach to problem solving, are driven to create and bring possibilities to life and enjoy making sense of complexity.
You will bring great relationship management and team working skills, and be outcomes focused, organised and action oriented.
