We are looking for capable and committed policy professionals to help lead the development of policy in a high profile, new and challenging area.
Education is key to well-being, social cohesion, and citizenship. It is crucial to New Zealand's ability to achieve sustainable and inclusive economic growth. Successful candidates will join our policy community and be based in the Education System Policy Group. Our group has a strong policy culture and works on issues affecting a complex system that directly impacts the lives of all New Zealanders.
We are looking for a Senior Policy Manager to join the Pacific Education Policy Team. This team leads a range of strategic policy work to support, lift and accelerate education system performance for Pacific learners and their families. We have a challenging and engaging work programme that includes strategic and legislative work and contributes to a number of this Government's education reviews. In this position you will work with the Ministry's senior leadership team, working across the Ministry to ensure that key strategies support the Government's direction and priorities for education, and leading and managing the team's work on the allocated issues.
We would like to hear from you if you have proven policy management experience, and
- thrive in a fast-paced policy environment
- have proven intellectual and professional leadership experience, especially as it relates to Pacific education issues.
- have proven ability to develop and lead multiple complex and sensitive cross-Ministry policy projects or programmes of work, to deliver on the Ministry's outcomes including to address Pacific education success.
- Have established strong working relationships across key government agencies to ensure effective management of cross-government programmes.
